come celebrate the Summer solstice with us at Tipton Haynes, we will have The Real Blarney Stoners and Amy Vining performing in the barn and have axe throwing and archery in the lower field and have hands on highland games clinic also. there will be fairies and goblins running amuck and vendors and kids area also and the best part is it’s free! SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2022 AT 11 AM – 5 PM

We will be having our celtic gathering on july 23 at 12pm in the front room at Tipton Haynes historic site rain or shine. We will be cooking up a good meal and there will be a archery workshop.This event is completely free so come out and join us and bring the whole family.

The 30th Upper East Tennessee Celtic Festival starts out on September 2nd at 7:30pm with the Calling of the Clans then on September 3rd we will have The AHC highland games hosted by SHAG along with music by The Real Blarney Stoners and the Cross Jack’s and a performance by the Appalachian Irish Dance company. there will be a competition by Everblade Academy and demonstrations and archery in the lower field by Tommy Fannon, and our Friends the Appalachian Renaissance Faire will be here with their Knights and Fairies, Lisa Snow will be hosting our kids area with games and crafts.
The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 7 to 12 years under 7 is free, and show your membership card and pay for one day and the second day is free!

Celtic Cook Off

ATTENTION!! The Appalachian Highlands Celts will be holding its first annual Celtic Cook off on November 12th at Tipton Haynes State Historic Site located at 2620 S Roan St, Johnson City, TN 37601. We will have 3 categories, Irish Stew, Soda Bread and Apple Cake. Entry will be $10.00 per category per competitor. Registration to compete ends November 8th. Now for the details, we are asking for public participation to act as judges general admission is $8.00 at the door for none contestants. Children 5 and under are free pre-registered attendees for general admission is $5.00 and can also be done by contacting us via Facebook or Email at ahcelts@gmail.com or contact Michael Amos at 423-773-6202 each general admission will be given 3 tickets one for each category to sample and cast their vote. Put on your finest and come celebrate the birth of Robert Burns. We will be serving a Scottish themed dinner starting with piping in of the Haggis and a toast to Rabbie along with entertainment and a few verses of his poetry.
